Best Seat in the House with Jay James

Jay James of WINA

TheSabre.com features a strong partnership with Charlottesville’s own sportstalk show “The Best Seat in the House.” The show airs on News Radio 1070 AM, WINA. Hosted by Jay James on weeknights from 6 to 8 p.m., The Best Seat frequently shines the spotlight on UVa sports with guests like Dave Leitao, Al Groh, Dom Starsia, and Brian O’Connor as well as Cavalier student-athletes. Plus, the show tackles hot topics concerning the Hoos with newspaper beat writers, national sports personalities like John Feinstein, Jay Bilas, and Michael Wilbon, analysts, experts, and more.

Thanks to the partnership with “The Best Seat in the House”, Sabre Editor Kris Wright and Sabre Recruiting Analyst Chris Horne are both frequent guests on the show. The two media heavyweights also join forces to announce the Preseason Top 30 State Football Recruits LIVE on the air in June, a show that includes interviews with some of the top prospects and coaches in the state. Also, The Best Seat blogs with The Sabre on The Good Ol’ Blog from UVa sporting events.

James, the Sports Director and Program Director for News Radio 1070 WINA, is a 2000 University of Virginia graduate with a degree in Religious Studies. He also recently completed the 10 month Political Leadership Program at the Sorensen Institute for Political Leadership at the University of Virginia. He also coached the women’s club basketball team while at Virginia and has worked with the on-site broadcast crews for football, men’s basketball and women’s basketball.

The Best Seat in the House is fast-paced, dynamic, and interactive.
