Had 152 tackles, 19 sacks, 14 tackles for a loss, five interceptions
and six fumble recoveries this season.
35 inch vertical. Bench presses 425 pounds. Multi-faceted player who brings a myriad of talent to the playing field.
Last Season - 140 solo tackles and 100 assisted tackles, 20 sacks, 6 interceptions, and 6 fumble recoveries.
Also, rushed for over 500 yards and averaged 12 yards per carry.
At a recent Nike Camp he may have turned in the best all around performance.
Ran a 4.6 40, 4.3 Shuttle, and did 28 bench press reps at 185 lbs. Parham had over 30 scholarship offers as of May 25, 2001.
Parham is listed at #2 on our Top 40 Virginia athletes, but that doesn't mean he's necessarily the second best linebacker in the state. Parham and Brooks are both phenominal athletes and should be considered interchangeable at the top position in-state, and both are arguably the best linebackers in the nation.
Are we done talking about Parham? Not even close. Kai can also play a little hoops. He averaged 10 points and 10 boards as a junior last season. But don't be fooled, Parham's future lies with the NFL.
Parham is an excellent student as well, already scoring 1,040 on his SAT and currently holding a 3.3 GPA.
Parham's original list of schools included Virginia, Florida, Florida State, Virginia Tech, Tennessee, Miami, Notre Dame, Michigan and Stanford,
with Virginia and Florida having a slight advantage over the rest. Things have changed a little since then. Recently, Parham has said that his top three are Virginia, Virginia Tech and Florida State.
It also appears that Parham and Ahmad Brooks have bonded and appear to be looking at the same schools. It's possible that one lucky school could get the two as a package deal. In July, both took an unofficial visit together to UVa to hang out with Coach Groh. Stay tuned.
