I didn't believe it until I saw it on the news.
A bunch of my junior high and HS friends all got together for a reunion and Lenny's name came up. We all remembered how Lefty said he loved Leonard (always called him Leonard, it seemed, never Lenny) and he'd see him in heaven someday. We all remembered how, just a few short days before his death, we were pranking people by palming their head and snapping it back to mimic Lenny snatching a rebound. We'd do that and try to catch a friend by surprise and yell "LENNYYYYYYYYYYY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!" as loud as we could. And, on the playground, you could pretend to be Keith Gatlin, but nobody could really replicate Bias..... |
