National Title. There are a lot of moving pieces on this team and
quite a bit of youth. Think we will need to be patient as this team comes together. Usually we are reloading but this year I have a feeling it is a bit more of rebuilding. So my expectations are lower overall. We need to win as many games in February and early March as possible. Late March into April is a brutal stretch. My biggest concerns are 1) Faceoffs (we really don' t have much depth here) 2) Goalie (Hope Marino can recover from injuries and start) 3) Defense (great to have Blake back). I am not particularly concerned about attack or midfield (White, Emery, Tucker, Shocker, Pannell, Hill, O'Reilly will do just fine). I do believe the new rules will benefit UVA. The faster a game is the better typically for UVA (leverage our depth at midfield to open up games). Last year, the expectation was win another national title. This year make the NCAA's. I like these type of year's because folks may look past us. As always, make May and then the real season begins. ..... And then watch UVA win the national title again this year. Nobody really has us on the radar. Go Hoos! |
