What names were missing that you expected?
It's pretty common practice for the swim team to not invite back 5th
years (unless they're the calibre of Hurley and Mellors), and sometimes
4th years, if they have not made significant contributions in the previous
ACC Meet.
Also, although I've never read of any official admission, but it always
appeared to me that Dino gives the guys two years, and if they don't
make the travel squad by then, and if there's little hope for them making
it, they're not around by the 3rd year. There are exceptions, of course,
but I believe they are either non-scholarship or other special cases.
There are also occasional transfers out among the kids who find it
difficult to compete at the ACC level, and opt for a slightly lower level of
competition.
