Two words: Academics / Health. All three left the team with absolutely
no negativity -- they just felt that they would better serve themselves by
concentrating on the books...and, in at least one case, health/injuries
had some effect. I think they still live with current swimmers and are all
on good terms with the coaching staff. And I know for a fact that they
are all good guys.
As for the travel squads, this may be the most talented and deep
Virginia Swimming/Diving has ever been. I have my preseason guess
made for both teams, but inevitably, some of the swimmers will break
through (ala Snawerdt last year) and others may be disappointments /
injured / etc. We will just have to see....
