There is no cap. The limit for team size has to do with lane space
during practices. Both men and women practice at the same time so it
is impractical to have more than ~60 swimmers in the AFC training at
the same time. I think Dino likes to keep it to roughly 3 swimmers per
lane. People that quit leave for voluntary reasons only, although Dino
has been known to drop walk-on first years on the team after a tryout
session simply due to lack of space. The men's team GPA will
definitely take a big hit losing Bartl and Parrish along with the
smart 4th year class (Rhodes Scholar finalist Miller, ACC Scholar
Athlete of the Year Sullivan, others). I am pretty sure both are in
the Comm School and are concentrating on the books.
Now if we got a DIVING WELL maybe there would be room for more athletes
