Subject: You mean in the sense that the court is a government entity?

Message:

Well, yes, they'd get involved if someone sued. And they'd rule in
favor of the church.

The idea that the government would force churches to marry gay couples
is a red herring of the highest order. Churches already make
judgements on who to marry and who not to marry. My wife and I had to
go through several counseling sessions before we could get married by
the pastor of the church I grew up in, and I've known him just about
my whole life. And we didn't even get married in the church - we
trucked him up to the Chapel.

Catholic churches routinely turn down couples because one of them is
divorced. We allow churches great freedom in deciding who and who not
to marry, and we'll continue to do so if gay marriage is legalized.
And it's absolutely correct that we do.
