I'm no Real Madrid fan or apologist. I have to believe that their
collective PK performance reflected the cumulative physical and mental impacts of 3 massive matches in the span of 8 days, including today's 120 minutes on the pitch. 300 minutes of football over 8 days against two of the best clubs in the world is a mountain to climb. Still, world class players should have no excuses for not holding their nerve and burying PKs. Regardless, a very bizarre end to the match. |
