Subject: Freitag was fired after 5 years and he won a natty. Making NCAAs isn't enough.

Message:

Unlike the current situation at UVA where we've lapsed into mediocrity
and lucked into one national championship in 16 years under GG (Akron
deserved to win that game), IU, Wake, Md, UNC and Akron show us that
it's still a handful of teams making the college cups and winning the
championships year after year. Don't buy the "parity" bull the GG
apologists are selling.

If you're a powerhouse, you shoot for the college cup at least once every
four years, which means you're vying for championships. GG's
stewardship of this program has been sad. With the right coach, we
could've won 5 championships in the past 16 years along with IU, hell
maybe more. Even UNC's record for final fours and national
championships have eclipsed us, and they had done nothing of
significance before GG took over.

Current Thread:

I get you're unhappy with GG, but why belittle accomplishments of the players?  --  Hoo05Dave   Thu Jan 3 2013 6:09:07 PM
Not belittling the players, happy we won. Saying Akron was the better team.  --  hooyorkcity   Thu Jan 31 2013 12:26:45 AM
