Subject: Liverpool/Tottenham was high quality soccer in Baltimore Ravens' M&T stadium ...

today. The breeze kept the sunny 93 F / 99 heat index at the 1 PM
match survivable for fans and a very good time was had (along with the
New Castle Brown Ale).
.
4 shots on goal in the first half and a nil-nil final did nothing to convince
that the great sport wouldn't be vastly improved with a lot more shots on
goal and an occasional score. Some big names for Liverpool came on
for the final 30 minutes, and Andy Carroll entered with 20 minutes
remaining - but wasn't impressive. The crowd (announced around
42,000 - in the Ravens' 71,000 seat stadium) was 80+ % decked in
Liverpool red.
.
The drawn-up defensive lines kept 20 players in a 20-yard band near mid-
filed ... where impressive ball skills were displayed in the very tight
quarters.
.
To add to my laundry list of radical proposals, I'll now add:
"any team that passes back to the goalie a second time on a
possession will give up a corner kick to the opponent."
