| Subject: It's hard to pick a team that's left, really. |

Greece? A big underdog, so there's that natural affinity. The fathers in
many ways of modern civilization. But they're also a bunch of won't work welchers who are threatening to topple the European, and maybe world, economy. Germany? There are those two world wars I can't get passed. No way. France? I've always had a good time there, and the women, food and wine are fantastic, but they are really very anti-America despite the fact that we liberated their country twice. So France is out. Italy? Many of the same good things as France (fun, babes, food, wine), with considerably less anti-Americanism, but they flop, big time. And I can't condone the flopping. England? Strong ally of the US in modern times, very good beer, but the babes are not superb, and their fans are delusionally and off- puttingly full of themselves. Spain? It's like rooting for the Yankees or the Cowboys, so I have a natural aversion to pulling for such a powerful team. They do play a beautiful game, though. Portugal? Other than Ronaldo's hair and Ronaldo's attititude, I have a hard time coming up with much to dislike. They've come close before, like Hoos teams do, only to have their hopes crushed. I'm going with Portugal. |
