Blew out a very good Costal Carolina team (one that upset Wake).
I watched the UNC men on Sunday - they looked OK but not great. Of the ACC teasm that lost in the 1st or 2nd round, only Wake was a real upset victim - BC's loss to Northeastern not a huge surprise IMHO. Our game with New Mexico was clearly closer than the final score - I watched the game and in much of the second half we were the better team at their place and at 5,000 feet of altitude. 2 out of the final 8 is about right - 3 is the best we could have hoped for anyway. I like Maryland FWIW - playing very well right now. Interesting subplot is the potential for a UNC - Creighton game in the FF as Creighton is coached by Elmar Bolowich who was at UNC a realyy recruited thier team that won the title. Left UNC for more money and a new, soccer only stadium. |
