Subject: It is an old term among tennis coaches
Posted by: Clark on Mon Aug 18 2008 11:16:38 PM
Message:

When coaches describe their jobs at different tennis camps, tennis
resorts, etc., they distinguish between teaching players who really
want to improve, and teaching at a hit and giggle resort (or camp)
where the customers are just on tennis vacation and really are not
looking to work hard on tennis.

Obviously, most coaches prefer to teach seriously, rather than feed
balls to the hit and giggle crowd.

I have heard the phrase used of mixed couples in these situations, not
just of women.

Current Thread:

Does the women's team have a chance to make it to the sweet 16 next spring? **  --  hoos4ever   Mon Aug 18 2008 10:57:15 AM
Yes; not necessarily favored, but a good chance **  --  Clark   Mon Aug 18 2008 2:55:02 PM
