You could say the same about any of the UVA sports. Even the so
called "money" sports of football and basketball. Win and they will come. Another great example is baseball--look how the attendance and interest has soared there. But I don't think you have to wait until a team has hit the top to try and increase interest. Part of the rebuilding process needs to be off the court as well as on. Look how much effort Mike London has put into building community support. Understand that he has a lot more resources to work with and a bigger potential fan base than women's basketball. |
