It also can be used to facilitate a muscle contraction or inhibit a muscle from contracting to prevent a muscle from substituting for an injured one and causing altered joint mechanics. It would be difficult to speculate on the reason either Gerson or Moorer were wearing the tape since the tape can be used for many different purposes and the pattern of application can look the same for different uses. My best guess would be a tendinitis type issue, but that's simply a guess since I only got a quick look at it and have no idea how much tension is on the tape. (That varies among different applicaions as well!) |
