All-ACC pitcher Branden Kline claimed the win by holding the Academy to one earned run over 5.2 innings. The Hoos wanted to erase the taste of a beat down at the hands of Georgia Tech on Friday and the Seminoles hoped to avoid going into the NCAA Tournament on a three-game losing skid. After being swept earlier in the season by FSU, the tournament rematch belonged to UVa as the Cavaliers prevailed 7-0. Full Article

The first win against the Terps ensured that the Hoos would finish second in the Coastal Division of the ACC. The Cavaliers are the No. 4 seed in the ACC Tournament in Greensboro, N.C. and face Clemson on Thursday to open pool play. Wednesday night, the Hoos travel to The Diamond, home of the Richmond Squirrels minor league team, to play VCU in the first of two games against this quality in-state team. In a story that received shockingly little media coverage, The Washington Post announced to the surprise of Washington DC baseball fans and Charlottesville residents that "the home selected for the Nationals is just outside of the university grounds and within a stone's throw of the campus."
