McCoy Talks Virginia Visit
April 13, 2008

This past Thursday through Saturday, the University of Virginia played host to Grant (OR) senior point guard Paul McCoy. The 5-11, 175-pound was in Charlottesville on an official visit, which was also his first ever experience at UVa. McCoy came away impressed by the experience, but he still plans on making two more official visits before he makes his college choice. Full Article
UVa Set to Host Oregon Star

UVa, led by primary recruiter Steve Seymour and head coach Dave Leitao, has shown heavy interest in 5-11, 175-pound senior point guard Paul McCoy ever since the Grant High School (Portland, OR) prospect was granted a release from the letter of intent he signed with Pepperdine. Tomorrow, McCoy will be in Charlottesville for an official visit and he hopes to leave with an official offer from the Cavaliers. Full Article
Cavs Pursue 2008 Class Point Guard

Following the departure of former head coach Kelvin Sampson, 5-11, 170-pound senior point guard Terrell Holloway asked for and was granted a release from the letter of intent he signed with Indiana University. The University of Virginia, which had extended an offer to the Harmony Community Prep (Cincinnati, OH) standout prior to his choosing the Hoosiers, is once again interested. Full Article
UVa Remains in Running for Star Forward

6-7, 185-pound forward Wesley Witherspoon is one of the top uncommitted prospects remaining in the 2008 recruiting class. Rated a 4-star prospect by Rivals.com and Scout.com, the Berkmar High School (Lilburn, GA) star is coming off of a terrific senior season in which he averaged 20 points and almost 10 rebounds per contest. Image: Sylven LandesbergDave Leitao's most highly rated recruit in his time at the University of Virginia, 6-6, 195-pound guard/forward Sylven Landesberg piled up the wins and the accolades in his senior season at Holy Cross High School (Flushing, N.Y.). Landesberg, who is averaging 29.7 points per game this season, became the school's all-time leading scorer earlier this season, is a McDonald's All-American and more importantly led the Knights to its first CHSAA championship since 1968. Painter Finishes Season with a Flourish

Booker T. Washington (Norfolk, VA) power forward DeShawn Painter entered the 2007/2008 season with high expectations as one of the most highly rated prospects in the 2009 class. The season did not go as planned for Painter, who admittedly struggled against top competition and defenses focused on taking him out of the game. However, by the end of the season, the 6-8, 215-pound prospect regained his swagger and is excited heading into the AAU season. Full Article
Kelly Concludes Terrific Junior Season

Ravenscroft (Raleigh, N.C.) forward Ryan Kelly turned in an outstanding junior season performance, averaging 23.7 points, 9 rebounds and 3.8 blocks per game. Kelly Continues Through Recruiting Process

Ravenscroft (Raleigh, N.C.) junior forward Ryan Kelly continues to make the rounds to interested colleges, most recently making unofficial visits to Virginia Tech and North Carolina, respectively. The 6-9, 197-pound prospect has also visited N.C. The big man on Virginia's campus this past weekend was 7-0, 230-pound Assane Sene, a top center prospect out of South Kent School in Connecticut. The senior had a great time on his official visit, which was his third overall visit to Charlottesville this year.
