 Virginia head men's basketball coach Dave Leitao played host to 6-10, 210-pound junior Henry Sims this past weekend. Rated a 4-star prospect by Rivals.com and Scout.com, Sims, a standout for Mount St. Joseph (Baltimore, MD), enjoyed trip to Charlottesville according to his head coach.

UVa Targets in Boo Williams Tourney

Juniors Sylven Landesberg and Andre Jones were on display at the Boo Williams Invitational this past weekend. Landesberg, rated in the top 100 prospects in the country, played for the Metro Hawks while Jones, a 6-2 guard out of Nansemond River High School (Suffolk, VA), played for Boo Williams Summer League. Both prospects have drawn interest from Virginia.

Scott Performs Well in Capital Classic

 In last night's Capital Classic held at the Comcast Center (College Park, MD), the Capital All-Stars defeated the U.S. All-Stars 149-145. UVa recruit Mike Scott turned in a good performance in a losing effort, finishing with 25 points including 16 in the second half. Last night was also the first time Scott had the chance to play with fellow UVa recruit Jeff Jones.

'08 Target Profile: G Elliot Williams

St. George's School (Memphis, TN) guard Elliot Williams showed why he is being heavily courted by ACC and SEC programs with an excellent performance this season. Averaging 23 points, five assists, five rebounds and four steals per game, the 6-4 prospect led St. George's to a 25-6 record, a small schools championship title and an appearance in the Division 2 state championship game.

Patterson Working Towards Final 3

Scott Concludes Impressive Regular Season

Mike Scott turned in a very good season for Hargrave Military Academy's postgraduate basketball squad this season, helping the Tigers to a 25-4 overall record. The 6-8, 215-pound forward, who starred at Deep Creek High School (Chesapeake, VA) in 2005/2006, believes the Hargrave experience will help him as he heads to the University of Virginia next season.

Kizer Key Recruit For Women's Basketball

The Virginia women's basketball program is looking for success on the recruiting trail to bring in support for young stars such as sophomore forward Lyndra Littles and freshman guard Monica Wright. With that being said, one of the top 2008 prospects in the nation has narrowed her choices to three schools, and Virginia is amongst the finalists. Lynetta Kizer, a 6'3" center, will decide between Duke, Maryland, and Virginia.

Jones Talks Record, Playoffs

 In last Sunday's win over West Catholic, the crowd was screaming in celebration after 6-4 Monsignor Bonner (Drexel Hill, PA) senior guard Jeff Jones tied the all-time scoring mark in the Philadelphia Catholic League. Moments later, the UVa signee, who went on to score 36 points in the win, hit a 12-foot baseline jump-shot to eclipse the mark that has stood since 1978.

 Oak Hill Academy's starting lineup consists of three seniors - 6-4 Alex Legion (Michigan signee), 6-3 Nolan Smith (Duke signee) and 6-9 Julian Vaughn (a Florida State signee) - and two top juniors - 6-0 Brandon Jennings (USC commit) and 6-8 Howard Thompkins. The group scored 72 of Oak Hill's 74 points in this past Saturday's 74-65 win over Montrose Christian, which boasts a talented but young team including UVa target Tristan Spurlock (pictured right).

UVa Recruit Continues to Shine

In his senior season at Thornton Township (Harvey, IL), Mustapha Farrakhan is averaging 22 points, six assists and four rebounds per game in leading the varsity basketball squad to a 16-4 record on the year. Farrakhan, who had some excellent performances in the AAU circuit this past off-season, has carried the momentum he built last summer into his final year of high school.

Scott Performing Well at Hargrave

Four games into the season, Hargrave Military Academy forward Mike Scott suffered a sprained ankle in the opening game of the National Tip-Off Showcase. The injury slowed down the 6-8, 215-pound Scott for only a few games, though, and the talented prospect seems to be continuing where he left off before the injury.

Patterson Reflects on UVa Visit

Big Recruiting Weekend on Tap for UVa
