UVa Adds Talented Guard To 2010 Class
March 2, 2010
 Head coach Tony Bennett and staff signed five high school seniors last November, but they weren't finished. Today, the Virginia program scored a verbal commitment from Billy Baron, a 6-1, 185-pound guard who is in a postgraduate year at Worcester Academy in Massachusetts. Baron originally committed last fall to the University of Rhode Island, where his father, Jim, is the head men's basketball coach.

 Asked how many points per game he is averaging, K.T. Harrell didn't have an answer. Certainly, the 6-4, 205-pound guard knows he is doing well, but he is simply not interested in individual accolades. Only one stat matters to the Brewbaker Magnet (Montgomery, AL) senior, and that's wins.

Checking In With UVa Recruit Joe Harris

 Lake Chelan (WA) guard Joe Harris earned Class A player of the year honors last season as a junior. So far this season, the 6-6, 200-pound senior has kept up his high level of play. Harris didn't match his 27.5-point per game average in last Thursday night's win over Adna, but he turned in an outstanding all around game - 17 points, nine rebounds, seven assists, four blocks and two steals - in the 79-41 win.

The LOIs are in and the rankings are out. The ACC did very well as a conference with seven programs making the ACC Sports Journal's National Top 25. UVa Recruit Harrell Set for Season Opener

The last time K.T. Harrell stepped onto a basketball court for a high school varsity game, he was just a sophomore. He was forced to sit out last season at Brewbaker Magnet (Montgomery, AL) because of transfer rules, so the only organized basketball action he has seen has come in AAU. The 6-4, 205-pound senior guard impressed on the 2009 AAU circuit, earning a handful of Division 1 offers and drawing rave reviews from high school basketball recruiting analysts, but now he looks forward to showing off his talents for Brewbaker.

UVa Men's Basketball Signs Five

The players are 6-4 guard K.T. Official Visit a Hit for Regan

 6-8, 220-pound Will Regan, a standout senior forward out of Nichols School in Buffalo (N.Y.), didn't need confirmation on his college choice, but that's what he got when he took his official visit to the University of Virginia earlier this month.
