Morgan Ready For Final High School Game

On Thanksgiving Day, Kye Morgan will take the field for the final time for the Franklin (Somerset, N.J.) varsity football squad. Already the school's all-time leader in career rushing yards and rushing touchdowns, the 5'11", 175-pound tailback is looking to lead the Warriors to a win over rival Piscataway before he looks ahead to the next step in his football career.

Shuman Talks UVa Recruits Doull, Gamble

The regular season is over for Fork Union Military Academy's (VA) postgraduate football squad, which finished 7-1 and had two wins over in-state rival Hargrave Military Academy. UVa had two recruits on the squad, interior offensive line prospect Ryan Doull and wide receiver Adrian Gamble, and postgrad head coach John Shuman speaks highly of both prospects.

Recruiting Notes: Brim Angling For Shot On Offense

In Victory Christian Academy's (Lakeland, FL) final two regular season games, senior quarterback Demeitre Brim has rushed for a total of 421 yards and totaled seven touchdowns. Brim is a big-time playmaker for the Storm offense, and he is hoping for a chance to be a playmaker in UVa's offense as well.

Season Diary: Playoff Time For The Titans

Central Bucks South (Warrington, PA) likes to play fast on offense, but last week's exhibition was ridiculous. The Titans scored 20 points in the final three minutes of the first half in a 61-40 win over Central Bucks East. The victory was a big one as quarterback Matt Johns and company clinched a playoff berth.

Tyson Biding Time On Recruiting Front

Senior safety/wide receiver Mike Tyson helped Lake Taylor (Norfolk, VA) to a 8-1 regular season record and an Eastern District title this season. The 6'2", 190-pound Tyson, a versatile defender that does a little bit of everything for the Titans, is pleased with the team's accomplishments so far, but he's looking for more.

Season Diary: Must Win Game Tonight

When it comes to sports, last week was a good one for Central Bucks South (Warrington, PA) senior Matt Johns. Last Thursday, he watched his future school, UVa, capture a big win over ACC-rival Miami. Last Friday, the CB South quarterback helped his team to a key victory over Pennridge, a win that kept the Titans playoff hopes alive. And last Sunday, Johns saw his beloved Pittsburgh Steelers down Tom Brady and the New England Patriots.

Prince Reflects On College Visits

So far this fall, Patrick Henry (Roanoke, VA) junior quarterback David Prince has scored verbal scholarship offers from Virginia Tech and the University of Virginia. He followed up with unofficial visits to both schools, visiting Tech for its win over Miami and UVa for the Cavaliers' victory over Georgia Tech.

2013 OL Receiving In-State Interest

At 6'5", 270 pounds, Zach Rhodes certainly has the size college coaches covet in an offensive lineman. This season is particularly important for the junior offensive tackle to show his abilities on the gridiron, as he has missed each of the past two seasons due to injury. Eight games into the 2011 season, Rhodes is pleased with what he has done but acknowledges room for improvement.

2013 Profile: Thomas Dale Speedster DJ Reid

Daniel "D.J." Reid's sophomore season on varsity was affected by injury, but the speedy 6'0", 190-pound athlete did flash big-play ability on the junior varsity level, accounting for seven touchdowns in just 10 touches in one game. Reid, now a junior, has been able to stay on the field for Dale's varsity squad this season. He has played a key role offensively for the Knights, seeing action primarily at running back and wide receiver but also seeing some time at quarterback. He came up big in last week's win over Prince George, rushing for 103 yards and three scores in a Dale win.
Reid, who boasts three major FBS offers already, is a talented athlete that could project to several different spots on the next level.

Quarterback Matt Johns and his Central Bucks South (Warrington, PA) teammates rebounded from a tough 44-42 loss to Souderton with a 29-point win over Hatboro-Horsham. The Titans now own all any team can ask for when it comes to earning a playoff berth. With two regular season games remaining, they control their own destiny.

Staub Impressed With Players, Atmosphere

On what was a big football recruiting weekend for the University of Virginia, Buford (GA) senior fullback/linebacker Nathan Staub was the only official visitor. The 6'2", 224-pound took an unofficial visit to Virginia in the summer, so this latest experience provided an opportunity for him to get to know the players better. He came away impressed by the players and with a good feeling about Coach London's program.

Recruiting Notes: Important Weekend Ahead

This weekend will be a big one on the recruiting front. Football-wise, prospects ranging from high school sophomores to high school seniors will be in attendance for the big ACC match-up against no. 12 Georgia Tech. The only official visitor expected on grounds is Nathan Staub, a 6'2", 220-pound fullback/linebacker out of Buford High School in Georgia, but many other notable prospects should be there unofficially.
Also in this edition of "Notes," Varina (VA) athlete Maurice Canady knows which position he will start out playing at UVa, and the men's basketball program is expected to host all four of its 2012 commits.

It's Thursday night, which means Matt Johns and the rest of the Central Bucks South (Warrington, PA) seniors are enjoying senior dinner night, continuing a tradition that began when the school opened in 2005. The 6'4", 195-pound quarterback looks to guide the Titans to victory tomorrow night against Suburban One Continental League rival Souderton.
("Season Diary" is a new feature focusing on the remainder of Johns' senior season. Johns committed to UVa in June and has led CB South to a 4-2 record so far in 2011. The team has won two straight.)

Catching Up With Versatile Commit Kyle Dockins

University of Virginia 2012 class recruit Kyle Dockins traveled to Charlottesville last Saturday to watch his future team take on the Idaho Vandals. He left Scott Stadium a little wet - water and Gatorade were flying following the dramatic 21-20 overtime win - but feeling good about the commitment he made in July.
