Offers Mount For Centreville's Ekanem

 With 15 major FBS offers in the fold, 6-3, 230-pound defensive end/linebacker Ken Ekanem has become one of the most highly recruited prospects in the state of Virginia's 2012 class. Florida and Tennessee coaches have expressed heavy interest and could be on the verge of offering, but for now the Centreville (Clifton, VA) star is content with offers from Boston College, Central Florida, Duke, Illinois, Maryland, Michigan, Michigan State, Notre Dame, Oregon, Pittsburgh, Rutgers, Syracuse, Vanderbilt, Virginia, and Virginia Tech.

Kwontie Moore, a 6-1, 242-pound junior out of Norfolk Christian High School (Norfolk, VA), verbally committed to the Cavaliers this evening, selecting UVa over offers from Arkansas, North Carolina, Notre Dame, Stanford and Virginia Tech, among others.

Norfolk Christian (Norfolk, VA) junior wide receiver/linebacker Wil Wahee received an offer from UVa this past Saturday, and it took all of one day before he accepted. Dan River (Ringgold, VA) standout Trey Edmunds was one of the most productive two-way players in the state this past season, totaling 124 tackles with 8.5 sacks at linebacker and rushing for 1,324 yards (7.8 YPC) and 13 scores at running back. Maryland, where his father, Ferrell, played collegiately before moving on to a successful NFL career, North Carolina, Virginia and Virginia Tech have offered the 6-2, 200-pound prospect, who could be a force on either side of the ball on the next level.
