Future Hoo LB Recovering Well

LaChaston Smith's junior season ended prematurely because of a foot injury. Unfortunately, the South Iredell (Statesville, N.C.) linebacker's senior season began with an injury as well. Smith has been sidelined since his team's regular season opener, but he is on the road to recovery and there is hope that he will return to action soon. Full Article

The Good Counsel Falcons (Olney), featuring UVa-bound QB Brendan Marshall and CB/WR Kirk Garner, hosted Micah Kiser-led Gilman (Baltimore) with both teams looking to rebound after losing in the ESPN High School Kick-off the previous week. The hard-fought contest needed an overtime period to be decided, and the Falcons came out on top with a 20-19 win. Full Article

In conversations with Tabor Academy (MA) rising senior Tevin Montgomery, UVa head coach Mike London and defensive coordinator Jim Reid "say they really think I should go [to UVa] for a visit. They feel they will be able to offer me four years with the mentality that this is the best of two worlds, with great academics and athletics," Montgomery said.
