UVa Strikes Again At Good Counsel

While in Charlottesville on a visit, Good Counsel (Olney, MD) junior wide receiver Andre Levrone verbally committed today to the University of Virginia. In Levrone, UVa gains its third commitment overall in the class of 2013. Two of the three hail from Good Counsel, which boasts a nationally recognized Falcons football program. Full Article

Image: Trent CorneyUVa-bound senior Trent Corney has excelled on the gridiron and on the track in his time at Thousand Island Secondary School (Brockville, Ontario, Canada). The 6'3", 245-pound prospect's athletic ability was on full display at the Badger Elite 7-on-7 tournament at Rutgers last year, where he showed a combination of size and speed (he has run an electronically-timed 4.5-second 40). Also last year, Corney captured the gold medal in the Boys Under-18 Javelin event at the Youth Track and Field Championships. Full Article
The Latest On Top DL Wyatt Teller
April 6, 2012

Liberty (Bealeton, VA) junior defensive end Wyatt Teller visited Virginia and Virginia Tech back in February. Since then, he returned to UVa for another unofficial and is hopeful of attending Spring Games in Charlottesville and Blacksburg later this month. The 6'5", 253-pound Teller has already visited both in-state schools more than once, including UVa "four or five" times and Tech twice. Full Article

Tristan Mumford is one of Statesville High School's (N.C.) most versatile performers. The 6'1.5", 230-pound prospect is expected to play linebacker, running back, tight end, and even some quarterback as a senior in 2012. Mumford, a junior, has produced no matter where he lines up. In fact, before heading home from the junior day, he expressed to assistant coaches Bill Lazor and Anthony Poindexter that he was leaning heavily towards becoming a Cavalier. Patrick Henry (Roanoke, VA) star David Prince attended Virginia Tech's junior day event on February 18, and he plans to hit the recruiting trail again tomorrow when he travels to the University of Virginia. The 6'1", 175-pound junior had been to both Virginia and Virginia Tech before this latest round of visits, checking out games at each last fall. It started in the class of 2010 with linebacker Henry Coley. Cornerback Demetrious "Tra" Nicholson signed in 2011 and subsequently started every game of the 2011 season. Wide receiver/safety Anthony Cooper signed with the Hoos in 2012. Rising senior running back Taquan "Smoke" Mizzell, Mike London and company hope, will be UVa's fourth Marlins recruit in as many years. Full Article
