McDonald Chooses Hoos Over BC, UNC
Jun 25, 2012Make it five commitments in the past two-and-a-half weeks for the University of Virginia's football program. Boston College High (Boston, MA) offensive lineman Jack McDonald is the latest prospect to come aboard UVa's 2013 recruiting class, verbally committing to the Hoos today over Boston College and North Carolina. Connecticut, Duke, Maryland, Massachusetts and Miami had also offered the 6'5", 285-pound rising senior.
"Just committed to the University of Virginia!" - McDonald wrote via Twitter Monday night.
McDonald, rated a 3-star prospect by ESPN.com and Rivals.com, was a Catholic Conference All-Star in 2011. He saw action at right guard and right tackle throughout the season, helping the Eagles to a 10-3 record that included a Division 1 Super Bowl title.
Virginia now has two offensive line commits in the fold for 2013, as Sadiq Olanrewaju, an offensive tackle prospect out of Salisbury School (Salisbury, CT), had committed previously. Overall, the Cavaliers have accumulated 14 commitments from rising high school seniors.
