One of the top defensive players in the state, Jones, who is Oscar Smith's all-time leading tackler, racked up 142 tackles last season as a junior. He was a first-team all-state performer at linebacker as a junior.
A fullback on offense, Jones tallied 12 touchdowns last season as a junior.
Head coach Rich Morgan: "Perry is not as big as Jerod [Askew], but he is quite possibly the best linebacker I have ever had at Oscar Smith. He is among the top three or four football players I have ever seen or coached. He is that good. He is 5-9, 185 pounds. He is so good and so instinctive. Pound for pound he is one of our strongest players. He has everything except height, and that drives him crazy and it drives me crazy. To the colleges that don't offer him, too bad for them. The ones that do will be recruiting a great football player."
